EHESP Plus Mékong

On May 4, 2010, an agreement was signed between Centre Christophe Mérieux of Laos and ’Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Santé Publique’ (EHESP), School of Public Health.

This signature was honored by the presence of Dr Ponmek Dalaloy, current health minister of Laos, and Pr Jean-François Mattei, former Health minister of France and president of the EHESP board. Were also present representatives from main international Health structures present in Laos.

Thanks to this agreement, the Centre Christophe Mérieux of Laos will welcome in its conference room the EHESP executive training sessions called EHESP Plus Mékong.

’EHESP Plus Mékong’ is composed of four trainings dedicated to senior health managers:

  • Hospital Plus Mékong, aiming at training directors from hospitals
  • Sanitary engineering Plus opened to technicians and engineers specialized in environmental health issues
  • Control Pharmacy Plus giving skills to pharmacists in terms of inspections and quality control
  • Clinical epidemiology Plus aiming at training doctors and directors of hospitals

From May 3-8, took place the second ’EHESP Plus Mékong’ course, Hospital Plus Mékong. It was a success as all directors of central and provincial hospital of the country attended this course. Five other week sessions are planned along the year to achieve the EHESP Plus Mékong courses.

This partnership is in line with the goal of the Centre Christophe Mérieux of Laos which is contributing to the improvement of public health in Laos by research and training activities.

The Centre Christophe Mérieux of Laos will keep working on developing activities and partnerships that would gather all actors in health and bring significant results in health improvements.
